Understand the result

Results depend on the employment regime and inputs. Domestic work has specific rules in articles 258–265; an amount from the general scale does not establish that a household owes it.

Frequently asked questions

Which scale does this calculator use?

The general article 177 scale: 14 days of salary between one and five years, and 18 after five years. Domestic work has a specific rule in article 263: two paid weeks on completing each year of service.

Does paying replace time off?

Rest and its monetary value are different concepts. This result values days using your inputs; it does not authorise buying out leave or determine a final settlement.

What if employment ends before a year?

Proportional leave requires reviewing the circumstances. Article 180 addresses contracts ending before a full year; this annual-leave scenario does not calculate that settlement.

Important notice

These calculations are estimates based on current Dominican legislation. For specific cases, consult a labour lawyer or the Ministry of Labour.
